Carly and Tre had a picturesque wedding filled with southern charm, bohemian playfulness, and lots of love. The Cotton Dock at Boone Hall was the perfect backdrop for their simple ceremony. Photos by Richard Israel.
We have a lot of creative brides but never one like this before! To celebrate her grandfather’s memory, bride-to-be Erin and her fiance Justin decided to throw a public art show as their wedding reception to raise money for the American Heart Association.
How original is that!? The art show will take place at Eye Level Art on Spring Street Downtown on Saturday October 15th. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join Erin and Justin in “shar[ing] their passion for art, love, and to educate and raise funds for heart health!”
Art from over 30 local artists will be on view and available for purchase. There will also be live performances by The Local Honeys and The Shaniqua Brown along with a sweets and specialty drink bar. Cocktail attire is required and a $10 donation is suggested. For more information on the bride and groom, artists showing, and to RSVP, visit the-heart-attack.com.
We are so honored to be a part of this amazing event and hope you come celebrate with this sweet couple and support a great cause!
What do fuchsia and orange orchids have to do with football?
The shop is overrun with bright pink and zesty orange flowers. From dahlias to orchids, we’re swimming in them.
All will be revealed in our next Wedding of the Week.
We at Ooh! are big fans of the bud vases, either alone or in groupings. We usually do them in Lisa’s collections of bud vases, or milk glass and I haven’t thought about them in color until I saw this. So fun! I think these would need to be done atop a muted pallette, say The Cotton Dock at Boone Hall or Alhambra Hall. This is part of the decor at The Story Hotel.
Another real wedding from Ooh! for you. The elements that I love so much: the rich purples and blues in her bouquets, the eclectic mix of turquoise glass on the tabletops, and the dropped planks holding mixed greenery and candlesticks from the ceiling. The ceremony and reception were both held at Alhambra Hall, which is literally a short jog away from the Ooh! headquarters.
This is an outdoor dressing tent that we did for Jessica Hofford. Remember Braveheart…..this reminds me of when that French/English princess came to visit Braveheart himself and then they “talked” about ceasing the war, blah blah blah….and you are never really sure WHAT happened except the movie alludes to the fact that she has a baby later on and that it could possibly be the offspring of Braveheart himself. I looked all of that up by the way, and it’s not historically accurate but whatever, awesome tent anyway! That fainting couch makes me swoony.
