The Out of Hand Spring Trend Report
Here on Pitt Street, we are more than ready for Old Man Winter to get on his merry way. Jill Bowman, Out of Hand’s Store Manager and Style Guru, is looking on the bright side and gave us her Spring Trend Report. Stop in to see Jill at Out of Hand, and reset your mind while restocking your closet using her Top 10 Fashion Trends for Spring/Summer 2015.
1. Leather and Suede
Kind of like that Stevie Nicks song, but not quite. These fabrics are not just for fall any more. We have a beautiful collection in-store from illia that mixes lightweight leather, linen, and cotton.
2. Bold, Bright Colors
We’re loving this season’s burst of luscious lemon and red. After a cold and dreary winter, a refreshing splash of color in your wardrobe is a basic necessity.
3. Novelty & Floral Prints
Do these scream “Spring is in the air!” or what?
4. Tea Length Skirts
Quite simply the epitome of femininity. {Channeling Audrey Hepburn!}
5. Body Chains
These delicate chains are feminine, sexy, and subtlety enhance almost any figure. Some of our favorites come from Chan Luu.
6. Glitter and Sparkle
Just add a little glam to your outfit with glitter, shimmer, and rhinestones. We’re all about glam-accessorizing with makeup, body lotion, jewelry, and nail polish.
7. Laced-Up Looks
Laced-up shoes and clothing should be your best friends this spring. Because, really, what’s better than wearing something comfortable and sexy?
8. A Bucket Bag
Big or small, the bucket bag is this season’s “it” purse. You need one. Trust us. You’ll never look back.
9. Sneakers with Anything (and Everything)
Sneakers have come a long way, baby, and this season, you’ll start seeing these kicks everywhere. Think of sneakers as your new spring shoe staple.
10. White Dresses
You know that “rule” about never wearing white before Memorial Day or after Labor Day? Break it.

Pitt Street Stroll – Nothin but Treats!
We had the best time on Pitt Street last night. Out of Hand‘s new beauty boutique showed its fun side with our resident make-up artist painting pink noses and whiskers on all our little visitors. Camp Perri had pumpkin decorating and Swoon had special guest designer, Kate Davis. Her fantastic new jewelry line is in store throughout the weekend!
Swoon had models dressed to the nines in a fashionable but fun alternative to a costume. This season it’s all about Gatsby! Ruffles and feather trim paired with Jane Tran headpieces, the girls looked divine!
Best costume award certainly goes to Lucy, Out of Hand’s very own, for her home-made Black Swan costume. Her makeup was amazing and looked like it was straight out of Lincoln Center!
We hope to see you at the next Pitt Street Stroll!
Kate Davis Jewelry
In 2003 the self-taught artist decided to settle in Charleston, South Carolina and began focusing on her line of custom jewelry. Her marine oriented background and the south carolina coast inspires her to work with natural materials and gemstones, resulting in a refined, organic style. Each piece is original and handcrafted by Kate in her Charleston studio. Kate’s adventuresome personality is reflected in her work, making every piece a unique creation.
Kate’s jewelry will be in Swoon all day Thursday, Oct. 24 and in the evening for Pitt Street Stroll from 5-8.
