Mark your calendars for a special event in December. The Ooh! Beautiful gals and Bare Beauty blogger Jessica Morse will team up for a special collaboration that highlights natural beauty. Based in Charleston, Jessica’s blog focuses on educating and promoting all-natural, non-toxic beauty products and healthy lifestyle practices. During the event, we’ll be offering cosmetic demos along with “clean” cocktails and light snacks.

What prompted you to start blogging?
About four years ago, I was having problems with my eyesight and fertility. After seeing several physicians, a local naturopath, Dr. Sherri Jacobs, suggested I try her 21-Day Metabolic Cleanse for a complete body “reset.” Those 21 days were pivotal in changing in the way I saw my overall health. I slept better, had more energy, and a lot of nagging physical issues that I didn’t pay much attention to disappeared. This particular cleanse is heavy on education, and it was during the 21 days that I learned about the dangers of environmental toxins and how they wreak havoc on our health. Everything from the pesticides in our food to the chemicals in our water, upholstery and personal care products, pose a threat. I also started researching the ingredients in my personal care and beauty products, only to discover most of them contained toxins and hormone-disrupting chemicals. Eventually, friends starting asking me for advice on all-natural replacements, so I created Bare Beauty.
What is your goal for Bare Beauty, and what do you hope to teach people?
I started the blog as a way to inform women of the risks they are taking each time they use products with harmful ingredients. It’s important for them to realize that today, there are amazing, all-natural alternatives that have so many benefits—it’s not just for tree huggers anymore!
Tell us about how you’ll be collaborating with the Ooh! Beautiful team.
I primarily work with online retailers, so it’s been fun partnering with the ladies at Ooh! Beautiful to plan this event. We’re excited to educate their customers about a variety of all-natural products and practices, and look forward to being a helpful resource.
